Town of Mono, ON (Don Butt) Well, it’s Holiday time, if this covid virus has not spoiled all your plans. Normally, you would drive more than usual, heading into new areas (maybe) but this year may be different. Reports from the OPP say that drivers are driving faster and with less care, and this could be from the strain the virus has put everyone under. Please do not become one of these drivers, who are inviting accidents. Speed makes a difference no matter who disagrees! We need to be especially careful in this trying time.
One of the other new regulations we need to follow is during Road Construction. We must slow down and watch for flag people and warning signs. Also, when approaching any emergency vehicle on the roadside, move over one lane or more and slow down, even if you have to go on the other lane, if clear. Please have all these new things in mind when driving. With all the problems with Covid, please don’t add to it. Thank you.
The other thing I might mention is when you go on holidays, make sure you put all your gardening tools away and lock outside storage buildings and garages. Let your neighbour know you will be away and when you will be back! Now is a good time to install those motion lights that I highly recommend. The lights coming on often scare vandals away.
Or you could always go to the store and buy a “Beware of dog” sign. It might scare some vandals away! Even if you don’t have a dog!
