OPP Charge Mono Man with Several Break and Enters

Mono, ON (OPP - Dufferin Detachment) Between July 4 and 15th Dufferin OPP Responded to several break enter and theft occurrences on Highway 10 between the 20th and 25th side-road in the Town of Mono. Items taken in these occurrences include hand tools, portable power tools, gardening tools, gas cans and loose change from vehicle parked at various residences.



After completing a thorough investigation and interviewing several witnesses Dufferin OPP have arrested a person in relation to these incidents. Police have arrested Ryan Patrick Lloyd LAPOINTE, 24 years of age, of Mono, Ontario.

Dufferin OPP are concerned that there may be other unreported occurrences of same nature in this area. Police are asking anyone who has been a victim of similar thefts in this area to contact Provincial Constable James Bronsveld of Dufferin OPP at (519)-925-3838.

**UPDATE: On Friday July 16, 2015 Dufferin OPP and Dufferin-Caledon Crime Unit executed a search warrant on Highway 10 in Town of Mono. Police recovered over $30,000 dollars of stolen power,and garden tools as well as childrens toys. If anyone is missing items they can call Dufferin OPP at (519)-925-3838 to set up appointment or more information on how to retrieve their items.

Police are reminding residents to contact the OPP Communications Centre immediately at 1-888-310-1122 to report any suspicious activity or suspicious vehicles in the area.  Information such as suspect physical descriptions, suspect vehicles and direction of travel are useful tools for investigators.
