OPP Investigate Fatal Collision in Amaranth

Amaranth, ON (OPP - Dufferin Detachment) At 3:25 pm on June 27,2014 Dufferin OPP were dispatched to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of 15th side road and  2nd Line in the Township of Amaranth.

Preliminary Investigation reveals the motorcycle was  westbound on 15th Side road when it collided with North bound pickup truck pulling a utility trailer. The driver of Motorcycle was treated by Dufferin EMS but succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The pickup driver was not injured.


OPP Technical collision investigators are on scene. Police have closed the 2nd Line  between County Rd. 10 and the 20th side road. In Amaranth  Township and it will remain closed for several hours.

Investigation is continuing and no charges have laid in this incident.

**Update: Dufferin OPP are now releasing the name of motorcycle driver in fatal collision on 15th side road and 2nd Line in Amaranth Township.

Daniel Deverell,22 years of age, of Mono,Ontario  succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. The roadway was closed for five and half hours while police completed the investigation.

Next of kin has been notified and the investigation is ongoing.
