OPP Investigate Major Mischief at Golf Course


(Mono, ON.) – On August 9, 2012 at 0812 hrs Dufferin OPP received a report of a Mischief occurrence at The Iron and The Eagle Golf and Country Club on the Mono-Amaranth Townline, Mono, Ontario.

The preliminary investigation revealed that vandals had attended the golf course overnight and broken into a nearby shed and stolen a front end loader. The culprits then used the front end loader to cause extensive damage to the fairway and golf course greens by digging them up and causing deep ruts in grass area. The culprits then drove the front end loader in nearby pond almost submerging it completely under water.


Damage is estimated to be between $30000 - $40000 to the golf course and the front end loader. The culprits attempted to steal and tamper with golf carts on the property.
