Two Impaired Drivers Arrested in Mono

(Mono, ON) Officers from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police had a busy night on Hwy 10 in Mono over the weekend as they responded to two separate impaired driving complaints.

In the first complaint officers were dispatched to report of a White Ford Ranger pickup truck southbound on Highway 10 from Highway 89. The vehicle was intercepted on Hwy 10 southbound and 25th side road after being observed weaving all over the road. The male driver Frank Araujo, 48 years, old of Toronto Ontario was arrested for Impaired Driving and Drive over 80 mgs and taken to Dufferin OPP for Breath tests. The results of the breath tests were over 3 times the legal limit and he was charged with Impaired Driving and Operate Motor Vehicle over 80 milligram of alcohol. The vehicle was towed and was issued a 90 day drivers license suspension.

The second complaint involved OPP officers patrolling Northbound on Hwy 10 near the 25th side road and observing silver Dodge Magnum station wagon weaving all over the roadway. The vehicle was stopped close by. The 33 year old driver, Bryan Grimsdale, of Brampton was arrested for Operate Motor vehicle over 80 mgs of alcohol and taken to Dufferin OPP for breath tests. As a result he was charged with Operate Motor vehicle over 80 mgs of alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. His vehicle was towed and was issued a 90 day drivers license suspension

Both drivers will be making court appearances at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville with first on August 21st and second driver on 14th, 2012.

OPP remind drivers that this is the reason that RIDE Programs are held throughout Dufferin County on a daily basis to combat these types of incidents.
