OPP Investigate Break in at Residence in Mono

(Mono, ON) On July 23, 2012 at 12:14 p.m.Dufferin OPP were dispatched to residence on Provincial Highway 10 in the Town of Mono with regards to a report of a break and enter.

The home owner reported to police that he had returned home to find a strange car parked in his driveway with a female party in the driver's seat. He confronted the female who indicated that she was lost, asked for directions and then left northbound on 10 Hwy. The homeowner checked the home and found that it had been broken into while he was away.

Dufferin OPP immediately surrounded the area called for OPP Central Region K-9 unit to attend as they thought that second suspect maybe in the area. The surrounding area was checked with negative results. OPP Scenes of Crimes officers attended and processed scene for latent print examination.

The female suspect is described as Caucasian; heavy build approx 50 years old curly hair driving a small grey compact car possibly a Dodge Neon. The vehicle was last scene driving northbound on Highway 10 from the scene.
