OPP Investigate ATV Collision in Mono

(Mono, ON) On Saturday, June 30th, 2012 at 6:49 p.m.  Dufferin OPP officers were dispatched to report of a single vehicle collision on the 25th side road in the Town of Mono.  Dufferin EMS and  Shelburne Fire Department responded as well.

Preliminary Investigation revealed that the male driver  was operating  an ATV wearing proper helmet and  driving the back fields of property behind a residence at this location. Approximately 20 minutes later  he was discovered by friends lying unconscious in a field behind the residence.  His friends immediately called 911.



The 49 year old male driver was transported to Headwaters Health Centre by Dufferin EMS with serious injuries.  He was subsequently taken to Sunnybrook Hospital where he remains in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries as of 2:00 am July 1,2012.

Dufferin OPP officers are being assisted in their investigation by Central Region OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators. The investigation is ongoing.
