Town of Mono, ON (Mono Community Policing Committee) This
month the members of Mono Community Policing are excited by some changes
we are making. Our road watch program, with the forms and drop boxes,
is not working as it did at the start. People haven’t time to pick up
forms, fill them out and send them in. On the advice of our local OPP,
we are going to try modernizing and put the forms on the internet,
attached to our web site, then people can fill them out online and email
them to the OPP office. We hope this will be easier for everyone and
action can be taken much faster.
If you carry an I-phone or BlackBerry, as more and more
people are, you can pull over, park, and send the report from where you
are. Please don’t do it while driving! We will keep one box in place for
anyone who still wants to do it the old way, and this will be at Mono
Plaza where it is now (main entrance in the hallway). It will take some
time to make the necessary changes so please bear with us and keep
checking our web site.
The other news we have is that the signs for the
subdivision on purple hill are being ordered and when they come they
will be installed by the Mono road crew as soon as possible. The signs,
of course are the “Neighbourhood Watch” signs to tell everyone we have a
functioning program.
With the coming change in the Road Watch program, we hope
that drivers will take a moment to report the dangerous and aggressive
drivers that put everyone on the road at risk of life and limb.
Safety Tip

Drop Boxes:
Pete’s Donuts, Mono Mills,
Mono Plaza,
OPP Primrose
Please make the effort to report dangerous and aggressive drivers, the life you save may be your own or a loved one. Many people now simply phone in by cell phone and this is fine but please use the number shown on our report forms.
