Dufferin OPP Wraps Up Labour Day Traffic Initiative

Dufferin County ON (OPP - Dufferin Detachment) From Friday September 2, 2016 to Monday September 5, 2016 members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) participated in a province wide Traffic Safety Initiative.

Over the course of this initiative, Dufferin OPP officers focused their attention on Distracted Driving, which is one of the “Big 4” causal factors of motor vehicle collisions and injuries sustained from collisions. The “Big 4” offences include Impaired Driving, Speeding, Distracted Driving and Seatbelts. During this initiative the 120 charges were laid in Dufferin County

Members of the Dufferin OPP would like to remind motorists to always be mindful of their driving behaviour while travelling. Our officers value your contribution to building safe communities. Please make sure to buckle up, put away distracting electronic devices, watch your speed and don’t drink and drive.
