The OPP is reminding people to drive
according to the changing road conditions while traveling this long
weekend. From reported snow squalls today to extreme cold conditions
throughout the weekend can make for some difficult travelling
conditions. A reminder to clear all the snow off your vehicles,
secure all items stored on the roof racks, check snowmobile trailer
lighting and attachment prior to heading out and on your stops along
the way.
Some of the waterways and OFSC trails
have yet to be safe to travel on. Ensure you are checking with your
local ice fishing operators and the local snowmobile clubs before
venture out.
As always, travel should include your
emergency roadside kit, extra clothing, a full tank of gas and making
sure your cellular phones are fully charged.
Final reminders that you can utilize
511.ca and follow the OPP on various twitter accounts as you travel
throughout the province.
