Mono, ON (OPP - Dufferin Detachment) On August 25 , 2014, at 12:38 pm an officer from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting speed enforcement in the Township of Amaranth. The officer observed a 2013 Mazda sedan travelling eastbound on King's Highway 89 at Mono-Amaranth Town line near Shelburne at a high rate of speed and determined that the driver was operating the vehicle at 142 km/hr. in a 80 km/hr. zone.
As a result of the traffic stop, 22 year old male of Orangeville,Ontario was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle.
The vehicle was impounded for seven days as a result of the stunt driving charge.
The driver is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville at a later date.
