Stunt Driving Charges in Mono

Mono, ON (OPP - Dufferin Detachment) On July 26, 2014, at 2:55 pm  an officer from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting speed enforcement in the Town of Mono.  The officer observed a northbound 2003 Pontiac Vibe on 3rd line EHS of Mono south of the 5th Side road travelling at a high rate of speed. He determined that the driver was operating the vehicle at 131 km/hr. in a 70 km/hr. zone.


At 6:25 pm on southbound Highway 10 at Dufferin County 10 in Town of Mono the same officer was conducting speed enforcement.  A 2010 Honda Van was clocked at 142 in 80 km zone.

As a result of the traffic stop,  28  year Mono male and 43 year old Oakville male were both charged with Race a Motor Vehicle.

The vehicles were impounded for seven days as a result of the stunt driving charge.

Both drivers are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville at a later date.
