Mulmur, ON (OPP - Dufferin Detachment) On June 20, 2014, at 2:51 pm, an officer from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting speed enforcement in the Township of Mulmur. The officer observed a 2001 Chevrolet Corvette and a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro travelling northbound racing with each other on Airport road at 15th side road in Mulmur Township. The vehicles were travelling at a high rate of speed and he determined that the drivers were operating the vehicles at 146 km/hr. in a 80 km/hr. zone.
As a result of the traffic stop, 17 year old male of Tottenham,Ontario and 20 year old from Mississauga were charged with Race a Motor Vehicle.
The vehicles was impounded for seven days as a result of the stunt driving charge.
The drivers are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville at a later date.
