(Dufferin County) The week of
November 3-9, 2013 has been designated Crime Prevention week in
Ontario. The Ontario Provincial Police is proud to highlight those
current Crime Prevention initiatives that have been successfully
implemented by our detachments across the province. These programs
have been successful due to the ongoing support and participation of
our various community stakeholders. Our focus this year are those
initiatives where the police engage community partners to reduce
crime and promote community safety.
The Ontario
Provincial Police (OPP) recognizes that community engagement and
strong partnerships are essential components to an effective crime
prevention and reduction strategy. The OPP, Crime Prevention
Section, Field Support Bureau in conjunction with the Ministry of
Community Safety and Correctional Services will be promoting five
distinct program areas throughout the week.
