OPP and Policing Partrners Kick-off Canada Road Safety Week

(Dufferin County, ON) Canada Road Safety Week runs from May 13-20, 2013. Throughout the campaign, Canadian police services across the country come together to ramp up enforcement and raise awareness surrounding the “Big Four” major causes of death and injuries on roadways: impaired driving, aggressive driving, distracted driving and failure to wear or improper use of seat belts.


“This campaign is a strong collaboration with our policing partners to stop and heighten awareness about the deadliest high-risk behaviours on our roads,” said OPP Deputy Commissioner Larry Beechey, Traffic Committee Chair, Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police. “During the campaign, we are counting on roads users throughout the country to help us work toward the vision of the Canada Road Safety Strategy 2015, which is to make Canada’s roads the safest in the world,” added Beechey.
