OPP WARN OF FLOOD RELATED SCAM

(ORILLIA, ON) - With the recent floods that have been occurring in Central Ontario and the State of Emergency declarations in a number of our communities, it has come to the attention of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) that there are some individuals who may be attempting to fraudulently benefit from this situation.

Given these circumstances, the OPP is strongly urging anyone who may wish to support any fundraising initiatives that may be underway or planned for the future, to make sure that they visit the websites of those communities that have been directed affected by the flood waters. These websites will assist with identifying how and where donations can be officially directed so that they make it to their intended destination and not into the wrong hands.
